You can count on the expertise and support of a variety of professionals at Oncology Hematology Care. Here are some of the people you may encounter.
You have one doctor who cares for your medical needs and coordinates your care. You’ll see another doctor only if your physician is on vacation or recommends that you see another specialist within our group. We always have doctors on call. If you call after regular office hours, you’ll receive a phone call back from the on-call physician or nurse clinician. With more than 46 physicians and 20 locations, we’re happy to see you at an office that’s convenient for you.
These registered nurses have the knowledge and skill to diagnose and treat problems that may arise during your treatment. Our nurse practitioners specialize in radiation oncology and medical hematology and oncology.
Nurse Clinicians
These registered nurses work directly with our physicians. They provide patient education and respond to questions, problems or concerns related to your care here.
Treatment Nurses
These registered nurses administer your medication(s) in our office. They’re skilled at starting IVs, preparing and administering medication, and instructing you about your treatment program.
Research Nurses
These registered nurses work directly with your physician to coordinate your treatment if you participate in a clinical trial.
Pharmacists
Registered pharmacists oversee the preparation of medications used as part of your treatment program.
Medical Assistants
Each time you visit our office, they check you in and are responsible for diagnostic test scheduling, assisting with procedures and drawing blood samples.
Receptionist/Schedulers
They answer your phone calls and schedule your appointments here. Remember that it’s very important to schedule your follow-up appointments and to notify us as soon as possible of an appointment cancellation.
Insurance/Billing Personnel
Responsible for filing insurance and billing for the services we provide, they’re available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about these services.
Management
Our administrators direct and monitor all aspects of the patient care we provide. They’re always interested in patient and family ideas, question or concerns to improve our care.
