Medical oncologists specialize in the use of chemotherapy drugs to treat cancer. While radiation and surgery are limited to specific areas of treatment, chemotherapy can treat widespread cancers by affecting the whole body. Chemotherapy drugs attack and kill cancer cells with the goal of curing or halting the cancer’s progress. Medical oncologists at Oncology Hematology Care often work with our other specialists, such as radiation or gynecologic oncologists, and combine treatments to maximize effectiveness.

Our medical oncologists have completed a three-year residency in internal medicine after medical school, followed by a two- or three-year fellowship in oncology/hematology. All are board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, ensuring they meet the profession’s highest standards.

Each patient’s treatment plan is unique and tailored to your specific needs. Your medical oncologist will recommend the best path of care for you, often in consultation with other Oncology Hematology Care specialists.
