OHC and CET Invite You to Preview and Discuss Ken Burns Cancer Documentary
From 9-11pm on March 30, 31, and April 1, local Public Broadcasting Station CET will air the new 6-hour Ken Burns production, Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies. We strongly encourage you to put this important documentary on your calendar.
We also invite you to join OHC as it hosts a preview of the documentary and a follow-up discussion with our oncology experts.
The documentary is directed by Barak Goodman, a filmmaker known for previously acclaimed works such as Scottsboro: An American Tragedy (2000) and Makers: Women Who Make America (2013).
It is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book (The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer) by Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD, an Indian-born American physician (medical oncologist/hematologist), scientist, and writer. The book was named one of the 100 most influential books written in English since 1923 by TIME and one of the 100 notable books of 2010 by The New York Times Magazine.
