Ajit Gubbi, DO, FACOOG, is a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in radical debulking surgery, minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery, and comprehensive educational, emotional and spiritual support for patients. Dr. Gubbi grew up in a family of mechanical and civil engineers and computer scientists. His father would take him to work and show him blue prints and designs, but Dr. Gubbi fell in love with the art, science, drama, passion, and perseverance of medicine.
Dr. Gubbi began his medical career as an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN). While in New York, he met gynecologic oncologists at Good Samaritan Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering. After being exposed to gynecologic oncology, he developed a passion for a new level of patient care as a gynecologic oncologist. It was mastery in surgery, mastery in oncology, and mastery in the understanding of physiology. More than that, it was mastery in caring and compassion for patients at a most difficult time in their lives. “The determination and appreciation that I see in my patients are the reasons that I love and pursued gynecologic oncology,” said Dr. Gubbi.
Dr. Gubbi’s spare time is family time. He and his wife have two young girls and they love to dance, swim, play soccer, and traveling. As a family, they watch Chopped and American Ninja Warrior, and create their own family cooking competitions and obstacle courses.

OHC is the best! Love Dr. Gubbi and his sweet nurse Kim! – D.N., August 2020
I have respect and praise for Dr. Gubbi. Throughout my care under Dr. Gubbi, he always listened, never rushed me, and showed nothing but kindness, compassion, and caring. My cancer was in remission until early 2020. As Dr. Gubbi had [moved to Ohio] to go to OHC and I wanted a second opinion regarding treatment, I drove the 250 miles one way from Michigan to see him. During my office visit/exam he told me about Dr. Shaughnessy (also at OHC) and they were able to schedule a radiosurgery. I thank God every day for both of them. Dr. Gubbi's staff is wonderful and I can't thank Kim Roach enough for her kindness and understanding. She was always there when I called and always ready to help with any needs or questions I had. – B.P., August 2020
Dr. Gubbi is courteous, knowledgeable and patient. He takes time to listen to his patients and answers their questions. – S.H., August 2020
