OHC Introduces MobilePay – A convenient new way to pay your bill
Please read below to answer any questions you may have about our new option to pay your bill, straight from your phone!
Q: Do I need to download an app or go to a portal to make payments?
A: No, there is no app to download and no portal to log into when making a payment through Text to Pay. Patients can pay their bill directly by simply clicking the link in the text message.
Q: How do I know the text isn’t a spam message?
A: Text to Pay messages are delivered on a short code, 89-523. The text message will feel like they are coming from OHC and not a third party.
Q: Can I stop receiving texts if they don’t want them?
A: Yes. Patients can opt out from Text to Pay communications by simply replying “Stop” to the original text.
Q: If I opt out of texts from (provider location), will I receive the text to pay message?
A: No, the patient will be excluded from all texting communications.
Q: If I previously opted out of text to pay communications, can I opt back in?
A: Yes. The patient can simply reply “Resume” to the original thread to be opted back in. If the patient has deleted the original thread, please reach out to OHC care team for further help.
Q: If I have a new balance with OHC, will the first text be applicable?
A: No. A new text will be sent with each new encounter. Statement details will correlate to that encounter.
Q: What if I have general questions or questions about my balance/statement?
A: Patients will have the ability to view statement details after they have clicked the link in the text message. There is also a “contact us” phone number call the OHC billing department.
Q: If I choose “other payment amount” from the text, does it set me up on an OHC internal payment plan?
A: No, it would end up being a partial payment. Patients will have to call OHC to be set up on an internal payment plan or to discuss other payment arrangements. The appropriate phone number will be provided once the patient clicks on the link as well to direct them to the proper department if they have questions or need help.
Q: If I make a partial payment, will I continue to receive a text on the outstanding balance?
A: Yes, the patient can receive up to 10 text messages for one statement. These texts will continue until the balance is paid in full or removed from the files sent to Athena.
Q: What if I do not want to make a payment via text?
A: Patients can call OHC to discuss other payment options.
