Daughter’s Donation Stocks Treats for Patients to Honor Father
“I wanted to do something for my dad’s birthday, February 13, that would honor him,” explained Erika Cliett, whose dad, Michael, was a patient of Dr. Jim Essell at the Blood Cancer Center at The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health. “He said that once he was better, he would have loved to volunteer at the cancer center. He received such great support and care, and he would have loved to do the same for other patients. I knew I had to do something for the center that took such good care of my dad, so I thought this would help other patients and the staff.”
Erika and her family each donated $100, with which they were able to fully stocked the Center’s cabinets with snacks. They also brought freshly baked treats for the staff. Family members include Michael’s brother Brian Cliett and his sister Kathy Springer, and Michael’s wife, Kirsten Cliett.
“All the nurses loved him and he always tried to get them to smile,” Erika added. “My dad always kept his spirits high till the day he passed. I wanted to keep making him proud even though he has passed because I know he is still watching over me.”
We’re sure your dad is very proud.
