Joseph R. H. See, M.D.
Medical Oncologist at OHC

Cincinnati, Aug. 9, 2017 — OHC, the region’s premier source of treatment for nearly every form of cancer and complex blood disorder, is pleased to welcome Joseph R. H. See, M.D., a board certified medical oncologist.

Dr. See earned his bachelor’s degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati. He earned his medical degree, completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians and American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Growing up in a family that embraced the philosophy of helping others and a love of science inspired Dr. See to become a doctor. But it was the special patient-doctor relationship that encouraged him to specialize in oncology and hematology.

“At the beginning of my career, I was a hospitalist, caring for a high volume of patients from all ages and specialties. I loved working with the patients and coordinating their plan of care,” explained Dr. See. “One day, I shadowed a local oncologist and was amazed by the patient-doctor interaction I witnessed — it was a deep and trusting relationship. Oncologists deliver very personal care and this relational aspect of medical treatment helps patients during their struggle to overcome the disease.”

As a hematologist / oncologist, he believes in empathizing with his patients and being an advocate of strength and hope to them. He also listens and cultivates lasting relationships with his patients and their families.

“Every day I listen and learn from patients,” says Dr. See. “I have seen oncology cases in all stages — from initial diagnosis, complications of treatment, relapse and remission. Through these experiences, I have gained deeper knowledge and understanding of the evolution of the disease and the toll it takes on my patients. One of my favorite slogans is ‘fight on,’ and it has put my perspective on medicine into focus. I enjoy giving my patients hope and the courage to fight on.”

Dr. See is seeing patients at the OHC Springfield office, 148 W. North Street, Springfield, Ohio 45504. To schedule an appointment with Dr. See, please call 1-800-710-4674 or click here.
