With an impressive score of 100%, OHC once again received 3-year certification by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative Certification Program (QOPI) of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

OHC was the first oncology practice in Cincinnati to achieve certification for achieving rigorous standards for high quality cancer care. OHC has received certification consecutively since 2010.

“At OHC, our number one priority has always been to deliver high quality cancer care,” said Randy Drosick, MD, OHC medical oncologist and hematologist and President of OHC. “This certification is a direct reflection of the unwavering commitment of our doctors, researchers, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical technologists and all other OHC employees.”

Fast-paced changes caused by scientific achievements and technology mean quality standards and clinical care may change rapidly. To ensure continuing excellence, the QOPI certification is only awarded for a three-year term. At the end of that term, practices can choose to participate in a recertification process.

On Friday, surveyors reviewed policies and procedures, interviewed staff and doctors, and observed OHC operations in order to validate that the standards of care are not words on paper, but the way OHC cares for patients every day.

Each area received a rating, the practice received an overall quality score, and the surveyors completed a report detailing their observations and suggested improvements.

OHC received a score of 100%.
